Who was surveyed?

Study design

For the Retail Report we surveyed 2,000 participants in the United States between 16 and 65 years. The sample is representative by age and gender.

Among others, it addresses the following questions:

  1. How often do US respondents use shopping apps or browse for products online?
  2. Online, offline, hybrid — Which of these shopping options do US respondents prefer and why?
  3. What do delivery and returns have in common? Possible shipping costs! Are Americans willing to pay for them?
  4. Paperless returns, same-day delivery and digital payment — how widespread are digital services in the States?
  5. The big international comparison — how do Spaniards, the French, Germany and Britons shop when compared to US respondents?
