Privacy Policy for Social Media Networks

I. Data processing by a social media network and Appinio GmbH

Appinio GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “Appinio” and/or “we” and/or “us”) maintains publicly accessible profiles on various social media networks. When visiting our profile pages on one of the below mentioned social media networks, the respective network collects personal data of you as an internet user. In this context, personal data means all detailed information about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person, such as e.g. name, telephone number or address. In this privacy policy, we shall inform you about the data provided to us by the respective network and which rights you have with regard to the collection, use and storage of your personal data.

 

1. Facebook

Facebook, a social media network operated by Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Facebook”), provides us with anonymous usage statistics (e.g. number of site visitors, demographics of site visitors, use of the individual functionalities). Facebook compiles these statistics of your personal data, which Facebook collects when you visit our Facebook page. Such data processing serves our legitimate interest in improving the user experience for our page visitors in a target group-oriented manner. The legal basis for data processing is therefore Art. 6 (1) (f) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We have no access to the personal data that Facebook collects to compile these statistics and cannot link these statistical data to the profiles of our fans or individual users.

In addition, Facebook uses so-called cookies, which are stored on your device when you visit our Facebook page. This can apply even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not logged into your account while visiting our Facebook page. These cookies allow Facebook to create user profiles based on your preferences and interests and to display tailored advertising to you (inside and outside of Facebook). The cookies are stored on your device until you delete them. We don’t have access to personal data that Facebook collects while using cookies. 2. Instagram

Instagram, a social media network operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (a Facebook company), (hereinafter referred to as “Instagram”), provides us with anonymous usage statistics (e.g. user growth, user demography, use of the individual functionalities). Instagram compiles these statistics of your personal data, which Instagram collects when you visit our Instagram page. Such data processing serves our legitimate interest in improving the user experience for our page visitors in a target group-oriented manner. The legal basis for data processing is therefore Art. 6 (1) (f) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We have no access to the personal data that Instagram collects to compile these statistics and cannot link these statistical data to the profiles of our fans or individual users.

Twitter compiles these statistics of your personal data, which Twitter collects when you visit our Twitter page. LinkedIn compiles these statistics of your personal data, which LinkedIn collects when you visit our LinkedIn page. Such data processing serves our legitimate interest in improving the user experience for our page visitors in a target group-oriented manner. The legal basis for data processing is therefore Art. 6 (1) lit. f) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We have no access to the personal data that LinkedIn collects to compile these statistics and cannot link these statistical data to the profiles of our fans or individual users.

II. Data processing by Appinio

If you use our social media pages to contact us (e.g. by creating your own posts, responding to one of our posts or by sending us private messages) we collect personal data that you provide to us. We only use such personal data for the purpose of contacting you in order to provide the requested information. When answering your request is necessary for the performance of a contract or if you contact us to conclude a contract the legal basis for the data collection is Section 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Otherwise the legal basis for the data processing is Section 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Such data processing serves our legitimate interest in allowing us to contact you upon your inquiry and answer your request. We delete stored data when they are no longer necessary for this purpose. In the case of statutory retention requirements, we limit the processing of the stored data accordingly.

 

III. Your rights as a data subject

You have - partly under certain conditions - the right,

  • To request information about the processing of your data, as well as to receive a copy of your personal data. Among other things you may request information on the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data processed, the recipients of the data (if a transfer is made), the duration of the storage or the criteria for determining the duration;
  • To receive personal data relating to you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to transfer it to another person in charge;
  • To correct your data. If your personal data is incomplete, you have the right to complete the data, taking into account the purposes of the processing;
  • To have your data deleted or blocked;
  • To have the processing restricted;
  • To object to the processing of your data;
  • To revoke your consent to the processing of your data for the future

and

  • To lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement, if you believe that the processing of personal data concerning you violates the GDPR.

If the social media networks don't provide us with any personal data, we will forward your requests to the respective network.
