Study design

Our approach

For our first Fashion Spotlight, we surveyed 1 000 Britons between the age of 16 and 65, making up a nationally representative sample according to age and gender in the United Kingdom.

 

Our report provides data and reveals how consumer behaviour is changing among the British population in terms of fashion and the emerging trends present in the sector. Among other elements, it addresses the following questions: 

 

  1. How frequently do Britons purchase fashion products?
  2. What is the preferred way of shopping for fashion: online or offline? What are the main reasons for that?
  3. Which are the most recognized fashion brands in the UK? How do Britons engage with them on media platforms?  
  4. How common is it for the population to purchase sustainable fashion items? Which brands are perceived as sustainable? 
  5. The sustainable fashion scenario: Do Britons shop for sustainable fashion? Which are the most popular platforms for second-hand and vintage fashion in the UK?
