You can build three survey types on the Appinio Platform. Selecting the right one depends on your research goals, audience, and distribution method.
Standard Survey
The Standard Survey is the most flexible option. It supports up to 90 questions, more than 20 question types, and custom target audiences. It can be run in 190 countries, with full control over quotas and target groups.
Short Survey
The Short Survey is designed for fast, cost-effective research. It supports up to 13 questions and runs with a nationally representative sample of respondents aged 16 to 65. It is available in Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France only.
Link Survey
The Link Survey lets you collect responses through your own distribution channels. You build the survey on the Appinio Platform and share it via a custom link or QR code with your own audience.
The rest of this guide uses the Standard Survey to demonstrate all platform features, including question types, filter functions, collaboration tools, and audience targeting. Where features behave differently in Short or Link Surveys, this will be noted explicitly.
